Welcome to my domain – a small plot of web “real estate” and home to my sporadic attempts at self-expression. My name is Kevin Neynaber and I am glad that you’re taking a moment to get to know me! If you are new to this website and are maybe wondering why you are here, it is probably because: you are interested in learning about me, you want to know about some of the things I can do, you want to see what I have done, or you like reading my long-winded, often unrelated blog posts. If none of these things interest you, then you must want to talk to me! Why else would you be here? So don’t be afraid to send any question, comment, or request my way. I’d be happy to meet you!
Now, a little bit about me. I am a “professional” student from Southern California currently attending Chapman University as a film production and business administration student. Although I don’t have a very long resume, I do have a nice list of interests that I’d be happy to share with you. To begin, I love sports and exercise. My favorite sport is soccer, and I’ve played for years both on competitive outdoor, indoor, and high school leagues. I also enjoy Martial Arts, having earned a black belt in Guardian Karate, mountain biking, weight lifting, tennis, and volleyball. I am also somewhat of a tech enthusiast that loves to build computers and to be informed about bleeding edge technology. In addition to these interests, I am an avid filmmaker doing my best to learn and grow in the art of making movies. I am drawn to the medium of film because it is one of the most, if not the most, collaborative art forms that results from the patient labor and creative endeavors of many individuals. Even as a young filmmaker, I know that a project in its final form – after much time and effort in production – is beautiful to behold, having grown from page to screen. Beyond my film ambitions, I’ve found interest in semantic web design, graphic design, audio production, visual effects compositing, and other various forms of multimedia.
My “About” section would not be complete without mentioning a trending topic of my blog, Switchfoot. Switchfoot, a best-selling and utterly amazing band from San Diego, is my favorite group of musicians and a bunch of truly nice guys. Besides finding their music and positive mentalities irresistible, I have found hope and inspiration in their lyrics. Daring all of us to become more than we are and to anticipate a day of freedom from the beautiful letdowns of this world, Switchfoot motivates me to grow as an individual, living for truth and purpose. As Jon Foreman aptly said, “I want to be a part of the generation that … [lives for] something bigger than ourselves.” We are meant to live for more than the present, for more than what is average, and for more than just ourselves. After all, “lives, like money, are spent.” The question that remains is what are you buying with yours?
