The Guardian

Project Overview

A short thriller directed by Devon Richtmeyer about a young girl who is protected from her abusive father by a "guardian." The film, which was filmed as part of the Advanced Production program at Chapman University, was shot on a Red Digital Cinema Camera in 4.5k resolution and edited by me in Avid Media Composer.

For this project, I managed the post-production workflow by syncing the dailies, assembling the edit, doing an initial sound pass and creating the titles. After making a number of changes to refine the cut, I assembled the final project (including the final audio mix and color corrected footage) on Bluray for digital projection. The film's final total run time is seven minutes and is presented in anamorphic widescreen.
